The Opportunity

  • Level 6 or 7 - $103,866 - $123,301+ 17% super (depending on exp.)
  • Full-time (35 hours week), Continuing (permanent) position
  • Hybrid/Flexible working arrangements

Research Analysis, Data and Reporting (RADAR) is a dedicated unit established to support the goal of continuously improving UNSW’s position as a leading research-intensive university in Australia. It is responsible for reporting on the University’s research activity and performance, its position in various world university rankings, enhancing and maintaining the Division’s research metric tool ‘BORIS’, and providing divisional support for research applications together with business improvement and integration services to ensure all systems are effectively meeting business requirements.

The Solutions Analyst is responsible for improving and streamlining processes related to research administration and compliance (e.g. research grants and contracts, higher degree research, research ethics), research performance, funding and rankings. This position collaborates with the relevant subject matter and technical experts to analyse processes, propose options & recommendations, and deliver solutions to address any identified inefficiencies or gaps.

The Solutions Analyst reports to the Manager, Strategic Projects (RADAR) and has no direct reports.

Who you are

Level 6

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Higher Education, particularly research administration and reporting.
  • Strong ability to understand business processes, analyse needs, extract data, and deliver reports.
  • Proficiency with systems/tools such as Excel, PostgreSQL, Python, Power BI.
  • Work collaboratively and or independently in managing competing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Commitment to UNSW’s values, policies, and health & safety requirements. 

Level 7 (in addition to Level 6)

  • Communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proven success collaborating across different organisational levels.
  • Advanced organisational and project management skills, particularly with complex technical projects and diverse stakeholders
