Why The Role Matters:

The Work Integrated Learning team supports the development of Faculty initiatives to support and strengthen student engagement programs to positively influence the student experience. This includes identifying, developing and implementing student development opportunities to enhance the student experience and ensure work-readiness. The Work Integrated Learning team is responsible for the placement and professional experience students complete as part of their course requirements. The WIL Administrator (Education), Staff Support works with the WIL Education team to ensure Teacher Education Students (TES) are placed in alignment with their UNSW course, program and accreditation requirements.


Accountabilities:

 Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Developing long-term relationships and fostering high-level engagement with Primary and Secondary Schools as key stakeholders.
  • Administering, responding to, and triaging school placement-related queries or complaints throughout the placement cycle
  • Collaborating with the WIL Student Administrator to arrange student placements. Ensuring students are allocated to the correct KLAs and supervision based on their course, program, NESA registration requirements, and UNSW program requirements. Ensuring schools’ special requirements and considerations are met.
  • Providing proactive and efficient administrative support within the WIL Education team, as directed by the WIL Senior Officer, Professional Experience Director, or School Manager.
  • Ensuring schools’ data is managed and recorded accurately in all systems for the placement allocation process by conducting ongoing audits, updates, and cross-checks.
  • Preparing accurate and relevant statistical reports on current, past, and annual school placements to support operational decisions.
  • Applying, interpreting, and advising on policies, systems, manuals, rules, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance requirements are met and any gaps are identified and addressed.

Skills and Experience: 

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant work experience and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Substantial experience working in a customer-focused environment with proven experience engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders whilst successfully developing and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail while consolidating information from different sources with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience successfully coordinating projects working with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of computer software preferably Microsoft 365, InPlace, CRM or willingness to undergo further training in these areas.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
