Why your role matters

The Post-Doctoral Fellow (Level B) in Applied Microeconomics will carry out independent (and/or team research) and carry out activities to develop research expertise relevant to their particular field of research.

You will have the opportunity to design research projects and contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.

As the Post-Doctoral Fellow in Applied Microeconomics you will create scholarly impact in the discipline which is recognised by peers in the advancement of disciplinary knowledge.

This position will support Professor Richard Holden with research at the university. You will primarily be an empirical researcher in applied micro-economics. The research agenda is broad, but a focus on economics of education or organizational economics would be a plus.

This position is being offered as a 2 year fixed term position however a 1-year fixed term contract may be considered if requested.

 

Who You Are:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A completed or near completion PhD in economics or computer science.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
