Striving to be at the forefront of marketing and digital experience leading practice, the team instils audience centricity and leverages UNSW’s Adobe and Sales CRM investment to deliver deeper personalized relationships through sophisticated marketing, content, data, digital experience and student recruitment functions, to support UNSW’s commercial and societal impact outcomes.

The Marketing & Digital Experience portfolio has four pillars: Marketing & Content, Digital Experience, Strategy & Performance, and Future Student Recruitment, with offshore China and India operations also reporting into the portfolio.

The Web Lead is responsible for leading the creation, management and optimisation of our Future Students digital experiences to help strengthen UNSW’s position as the premier destination in the state for local students and the premier destination in the country for internationals. This role will also help enable personalisation to maximise lead generation and enrolment conversion for Future Students in support of achieving international or local enrolment targets.

The Web Lead reports to the Web and UX Manager and has three direct reports.

Accountability summary

  • Lead the Web arm of the Future Students’ Digital Experience team, contributing to a data-driven and highly customer-focused unit with demonstrated commitment to collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement. Provide leadership support for evolving the team’s web skills and capabilities in line with global best practice.
  • Lead the optimisation of UNSW’s web environment for Future Students, working with the Digital Experience Manager in ensuring we deliver a connected, personalised, streamlined experience consistently across the customer journey, driving business outcomes at every connection.
  • Drive digital enhancements from end to end, including the drafting of project scope and cost proposals, identifying requirements, participating in assessing best-practice technical solutions in collaboration with Digital Experience work partners, and project managing digital vendors.
  • Regularly audit Future Student web pages and develop hypotheses to tests and iterate designs to optimize the future student experience. Partner with the Digital Solutions team, the External Engagement team and external agencies to develop and deliver digital experiences.
  • Manage reporting on website performance, audience behaviours and market analysis, and collaborate with UX Designers, Product Owners and Web & UX Manager to prioritise the Future Student web roadmap.
  • Design and lead an effective Web Conversion Rate Optimisation program that supports both organic and paid marketing strategies as part of the larger experimentation capability within the MDX team.
  • As part of the Future Student digital uplift, support accelerated technology adoption, including participating in training and on the job learning, and implementation of new ways of working.

Who you are

  • Experience working with website development platforms, with Adobe Marketing Cloud, specifically Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Target experience preferred.
  • Understanding and exposure to UX design best practices
  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of digital marketing and ecommerce, with an understanding of sales funnels and activation
  • Exposure to conversion rates optimisation initiatives and experience with SEO
  • Previous leadership experience, coaching and motivating a team
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to engage people of all ages, including those from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
