The Organisational Change Manager – Cyber is responsible for the design and delivery of Organisational Change Management (OCM) solutions and reports to the Lead Organisational Change Manager.

The role supports the Cyber Security Enablement Program (the Program), a multi-year initiative designed to materially reduce the University’s exposure to cyber security risk through the implementation of technology and business changes.

The primary purpose of the role is to define and execute appropriate Organisational Change Management (OCM) strategies relevant to the nature and scale of business impacts flowing from the changes being introduced by the Program.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Identifying the appropriate OCM approach within the project and business context.
  • Leading and managing the OCM stream within a project, including the design, development and implementation of change management deliverables including communications.
  • Ensuring the change is sustained by understanding the requirements of the business and ensuring key areas are operationally ready.
  • Managing the consistent delivery of OCM and communication plans on time, within budget and to appropriate quality standard.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, and other key leads, and seek inputs and feedback on the ongoing effectiveness of OCM plans.
  • Actively co-manage, with the Project Manager the risk and issue management process by identifying, reporting and managing OCM risks and resolving issues ensuring appropriate allocation of ownership.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the development of new or improved business and user capabilities required through training, learning collateral, communication initiatives and other change management activities.
  • Assist in identifying suitable change agents and lead, educate, mentor and coach these change agents on change management throughout the project.
  • Manage concurrent OCM activities / initiatives effectively across one or more projects.

 

Skills and experience

  • Extensive experience in OCM focusing on the delivery of major (enterprise scale) cyber security changes initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Able to develop effective relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving with the ability to resolve and address OCM issues as they arise.
  • OCM certification (e.g., Prosci) or relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of formal Project Management methodologies, such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
  • Experience in the University / Higher Education sector is desirable.
